Our #KIUNPLUGGED series shows in written form what artificial intelligence can already do, where it could be used in the future and what the technical background looks like. To provide even more in-depth knowledge, Monika and Ralf invited us to an AI talkabout. For about an hour, the two gave insights into the basics, useful tools and ethical and legal boundaries.
How do you start an event about AI without showing the same three examples that everyone has already seen? You show an AI-generated rap video about Andreas, which you have created yourself using several tools. After the relaxed introduction, Monika and Ralf dived deep into the theory behind Chat GPT and co.
- How does artificial intelligence work?
- What are tokens, vectors and how does an AI understand my words?
- How does AI generate output?
Every good theory is followed by practice, which is why Ralf has presented 15 useful tools that cover all application purposes: from image processing and research assistance to sound generation, there seems to be an AI for every problem. Essentially, however, not every tool that doesn’t cost money works for free. The issue of data protection must not be neglected, and copyright, discriminatory bias and hallucinations must also be taken into account.
And: any AI can only work if the prompt is correct. But how do you actually write it so that it works as well as possible?
The most important learnings from the event:
An AI is not a search engine!
Use AI like it’s the worst you’ve ever used.
Don’t ask for permission, ask for forgiveness…?
This jam-packed lesson is not only a good introduction to becoming an AI expert yourself. It is also a first teaser for our two AI workshops offered by Ralf and Monika. For more detailed information, click here for the blog article.
